Our IPF 2016 Summer Session has finished, and it was a Memorable one! There were three big Components to this incredible Success, and we would like to share them with you...
1) Attendance was terrific. It starts with getting to the gym, and our Athletes did so in record numbers. It was awesome to see so many Athletes every Day.
2) Effort and Focus Improved. Paying Attention and Working Hard are taken for granted by many as "something that should happen". Experience tells us it rarely does. At IPF, our Kids Improved every week at Being a Great Teammate, Being Coachable, and Being able to Learn and Succeed under Stress or with Fatigue. As a result, Athletic Improvement skyrocketed among our Athletes. They Jumped Better, Ran Faster, Added Muscle, Changed Direction Quicker and Lost Fat because of their Dedication, Process and a slow but steady Increase in Self-Confidence that occurred every week.
The Development of Self-Confidence/Self-Esteem is one of the under-rated Outcomes of Strength and Conditioning. Working really hard to Achieve a Goal, Improve a Skill, or Reach a pre-established Standard generates many Positive Outcomes. Confidence in Yourself, your Process, and your Opportunity-Pass or Fail, Win or Lose-is what Fuels most of us to "Go for It".
IPF has a reputation as "Hard", "Structured", and "You Have to Talk + Participate". That may sound terrific to some, but many, Kids and Adults alike, can be intimidated by terms others may embrace. We are very fortunate because many of our Clients enjoy both the Idea and the Execution of Working Hard, Learning about the Body + Health, and the Concept of Improving a little every Day.
3) Improving Every Day is the Third Component that drove IPF this Summer, and although it may have taken us to our highest "Highs", it also revealed our lowest "Lows". Our Coaches spoke each and every Day with our Athletes to Help them Improve. Themes included Nutrition, Recovery, Sleep Strategies, Daily Food Prep, Organization, etc.
Many of our Athletes are acutely aware of the Choices they make, and How to Make them. The Sum of those Choices is our "Now" and also our "Will Be".
Our Kids also know the difference between a doughnut and 3 Eggs. They know 8+ hours of Sleep are necessary and better than 7. They know that a "Plan" can be tweaked or Improved, but random Success is impossible to duplicate.
These Daily Conversations were amazing and potentially the most beneficial portion of our "Training". Building an Honest Relationship between Coach and Athlete is the fastest way to Excellence, and our Kids know our Coaches Care.
With all of this Knowledge, what we saw from our Kids is that Behavior conquers Knowledge. Our Successful Athletes made good Choices because they Chose Good Behaviors. Our few Athletes that struggled had terrible Behavior Patterns. No Plan, No Discipline, and No Ability to "Say No". They ate poorly even when they knew there were better Options. They Played too many Games or went to too many Practices when they were Exhausted. Tired Practices are not skill Sessions and Fatigue dramatically Increases the Risk of Injury.
Fact: Mondays were the Best Attended Day @IPF and also the Day we made the most Modifications within the Workout due to Weekend Exhaustion, Injuries or Poor Planning.
Behavior made it easy to determine their Outcome: Positive for Many, and a struggle for those who did not Follow a Plan.
The Knowledge was important, but Behavior was King. Think about that for a moment, as it pertains to You or your Kids. We have, and we saw it Work for a great many Athletes this Summer.
We are Thankful for Everyone that was a part of IPF Summer Session 16: the Athletes, the Parents, the Coaches, and the overall IPF Community that supported such a thriving Environment that produced incredible Results!

Behavior: most People Struggle with either Knowledge or Behavior. Do you Know what you have to Do? Or, Can You Do What Needs to be Done? This Choice is one that affects every age Group, and it doesn't get easier as you get older. Identifying where the Issues are and improving them is a big part of IPF...
Structure: everyone says they want Structure, and most Sports, Companies and even Life is built with certain organizational elements. Our Group Training asks you to make your "Team" Better while doing everything you can to Improve Yourself.
Feedback: we listen to You! We are 100%+ ahead of last years Sign-Ups as of this letter. That means You are just as Excited as We are! You Love Training with Us and We Love Having You! That is Incredible and Exciting! We take the Responsibility of Training our Athletes very seriously. All of us are personally invested in your Process. Perception: yes, our Training Program can be Difficult. Yes, we Set the Bar High for your Personal Improvement. Yes, your Friends are doing something (or nothing) easier, and they aren't expected to Give their Best Effort every Day. If there is one thing that we Believe @IPF, is that the Satisfaction and Excitement that come from Learning How to Do Your Best is the greatest Skill you can Acquire.
